ULTRA MEGA LONG POST. Photos intensive!

Holidays is here! :D

Need a place to put all the happy emotions and experiences in life instead of pure ranting of negative emotions.

So... I went Seoul 3 times this year (first w Annie! *took a few photos from Annie's cam hehe*), crazy but fun :)

Getting a handphone/cellphone/mobile there....

:( I can't live without data usage and mobile...but roaming charges are always so expensive..so ta-da!

Why rent?

Cause in Korea, they do not really use prepaid cards*if you really want 1, it's 80000won(apx SGD 91). So it's definitely cheaper to rent...(2700won per day + 5000won for unlimited data/day =7700/day)

If you frequent them.. you get this card, it entitles you a 50% off rental fees the next time you rent from them.

Well, since for the 3 times, I rented from them, I've 3 of these cards and if anyone of you reading wants it, just email me or drop me a comment to get it :)

They have various mobile rental shop in the airport but I always chose this cause of the convenience of reserving and getting your korean no. in advance plus they are the cheapest around.
Iphone fanatics can get their Iphone from another company, if I remember correctly, it's olleh? haha

For me, I'm happy w my samsung galaxy :D

Accommodation

If you're thinking of a cheap and convenient place to stay in Seoul, try Alpha Guest House, might not be as fancyful as hotels, but it's only 20 000won (apx sgd 23) a night/person *min 2*. If you're a solo traveller, it will be 30 000won (apx sgd 35) /night.

It's located at Sinchon, few mins walk away from the subway. 1 subway stop away from my fave night area Hongik Univ (hongdae) and Ewha women's univ(:D a lot of cafes and cheap clothings here) plus mad convenient to travel to shopping district like dongdaemun and myeongdong ;)

If you prefer luxury stay like this( I almost hyperventilate when preshiie showed this to me.. so pretty...and most importantly really cheap!) :

You must be thinking..royal suite damn expensive right? NO! It's only 130000won-180000won(apx 150SGD to 205SGD!)/night! Sharing with your friend or your partner, 1 person only need to fork out around 75SGD-100SGD/night for this awesome place (and with 2 computers in a room, no snatching needed haha)!!

Both of the suites are photos of Jade hotel located at sinchon too :) But due to the popularity, you need to book it way in advance(like a month to be safe)! T_T

Getting around

The most popular way will be via the subway. Get your T-money card (works like ezlink card anw) at any convenience stores at the airport first. The subway has got English signs so need not be worried. One stop is apx 2mins-3mins and you can get to anywhere in Seoul and even to Incheon!

Well.. in every subway station, they have a long flight of stairs... good way to diet down cause you walk it everyday, bad idea if you're carrying a million of shopping bags( I nearly died w Jasmine last year doing so.)

*If BY ANY CHANCE, you need to take the taxi, no, it's not as expensive as Singapore... but do choose the taxis that are not the premium ones(usually black in color), play safe, get a white cab. haha. Premium cabs can cost you hundreds over dollars while a normal cab charge only a few bucks. ;)*

Things you must go/do in Korea (some might be a famous tourist must-dos and some are just not ventured or promoted well but definitely worth to try!)

Shopping:

Myeongdong- well known shopping district.
Check out the H&M here (the prices and variety will make you jaw drop), SPAO, all the korean make up shops like Holika Holika, Etude House, Baviphat... E.T.C. :)

DongDaeMun- 24 Hour Shopping Experience!

It can be quite confusing when getting there as there are a few "dongdaemun associated subway stations"

To get to the area with malls selling varieties from tees of 5000won(apx 6 SGD) to leopard prints furry jacket of 19000won(apx22SGD)...

Exit #14 at Dongdaemun history and culture park station and you will see the Hello apM shopping building, Goodmorning City and Doota!

remeber... The tiger looks so cute like a cat right? According to the guide,
the sentimental emperor made it cuter cause this is outside the empress's
place. Touching right?! ><

ok.. I cheated here, cause these are photos of my last year's trip w Jasmine and she took it :P

Well.. We went Mnet Coundown !!! The easiest show to get in though.

Inkigayo is the 2nd easiest but you need to reg yourself through their web and via a lottery manner to get the tickets, if not try your luck by going to the studio on the filming day.

Anyway, for MCD, get an album of your fave idol who's recording on the day.

Go to the studio located near the subway station Digital Media City... apx 10-15 minutes walk away. :)

You will definitely see a queue over there, just ask 1 of them where to find your idol fan club, they will lead you to them ^^.

After registering yourself w the fanclub (they will ask you to return at a certain timing to queue for the individual recording), queue at the long queue where everyone is queueing cause it's for the overall recording where majority of the stars will be there to perform, some of them with tight schedule will only perform for individual recording.

Please reach around 8am to queue :) They will just register your name and ask you to return at a certain timing at a certain place so don't worry about queuing for hours. They are quite efficient ^^.

Nightlife:

Koreans are famous for their nightlife. Really!

They party Mon to Sun!

Plus they have synchronize club dance called kongkonggi hehe.

Once a famous song is played, all of them dance the same way. Mad cool.

Well, they have 3 nightlife areas..

Sinchon, Hongdae and Gangnam.

Sinchon is more of bars and the club not really my type (too little people haha)

Hongdae is my FAVOURITE. Really... people are crazily high there <3

Can't really judge bout Gangnam cause it's always too far for me to try, but the next time i go, preshiie will have to bring me there haha.

I frequent 1 of Hongdae's famous club NB2 (opened by YG- big bang, 2ne1's company),with Annie, we club every single freaking day and met some really nice and funny friends as well as some.. weirdos.

But all in all, most of the people there are fun :D

Their alcohol is mad cheap too, tequila shot at 2000won -5000won! (2+sgd to 5+sgd), depending on the club you went!!!!

After trying the clubs, you can try their noraebangs(ktv, be surprised at the updated eng songs they have and the not so updated chi ones) as well as their dvd bang keke (home theatre in a room w bed-like sofa).

Other than Seoul, I went to Incheon to surprise someone for his birthday! Sweet preshiie help prepare a cake for me beforehand so once i reached Korea, we went to Incheon.. w all my luggages. lol.

Not only that, the 2nd time we went back to that area, we met weird people and even a flasher =.=;;;

The place he works at, quite alright the first time we went..
but also maybe cause it's late at night the 2nd time.. hehe.
